Speaker: Jeremy Hetz
My Name is Jeremy Hetz, pastor at Nipigon Baptist Church in Nipigon, ON. I have been pastoring in Northern Ontario for 17 years and could not have done it without my wonderful wife Candace with me through it all. We love serving the Lord together and have 4 wonderful children whom we are blessed to parent.
I was saved when I was 17 at Hume Lake Bible Camp in California and haven’t looked back since. I had drive and passion for ministry after finding Christ. I went to New Tribes Bible Institute from 2002-2004, earning a Biblical Studies degree. I served at New Tribes Bible Institute from 2004-2007 before taking on the role of Pastor at Nipigon Baptist Church.
It has been a privilege to serve the camp ministry for many of my years in Northern Ontario, having participated in many weeks serving various ages. I am passionate about guiding youth and young adults in hearing about the amazing grace of Jesus. Jesus changed my life when I was 17, and through the camp ministry, I have been privileged to see so many lives change by the Gospel for the Glory of God. But by the grace of God, we are blessed to be in His service!

Bio: Being born, raised and living in the area, I am looking forward to offering a hike where fellowship, faith, and the outdoors come together. I believe time on the trail creates space for reflection, honest conversation, and spiritual growth. My goal is to lead hikes, sharing the history of the area and encouraging connection with God, with nature, and with one another.

National Director of Legacy Coalition of Canada
Bio: Len Friesen is the National Director of Legacy Coalition Canada (LCC). LCC’s mission is to inspire a movement of empowered and intentional grandparents to engage in effective family discipleship so that future generations will know and follow Christ, and continue a Gospel legacy that outlives them. Len was born in Paraguay and moved to Canada at the age of nine. Len and his wife, Pam, have served as missionaries/Regional Directors with Awana for over 14 years. They live in Steinbach Manitoba, and have three children and four grandchildren. They are actively serving in both adult and children’s ministries at their local church and both have a passion for grandparent and children ministries.

Bio: Amy has functioned in ministry for over 20 years, working with at-risk youth, women’s ministry, youth ministry, as a denominational resource coordinator, and on various ministry governance boards. Her ministry includes pastoral care, worship leading, and kids’ ministry. Amy is a long-time friend of JOY and serves faithfully on JOY’s Board of Directors.
