Summer Mission Crew & Volunteer Opportunities

Partner with JOY this Summer

Join us at JOY this summer and be a part of the Summer Mission Crew!

Being a part of JOY’s Summer Mission Crew is a partnership with JOY as your summer mission, to see lives changed forever through the Good News of Jesus Christ

JOY’s Summer Mission Crew is made up of motivated young people, who are seeking a summer adventure and ultimately, God’s direction and impact on their lives.  Summer Mission Crew members chose to serve at JOY to be immersed in a Christian environment and serve in ministry; grow in their faith, develop hospitality & other workplace skills, and make life-long friendships.

Summer Mission Crew members are assigned to a department that best meets their skill sets, training and interests.  Mission Crew members live in a dorm-style setting with other Mission Crew members, meals are provided for them from JOY’s kitchen, and they take part in JOY’s Mission Crew Care Program, a ministry to the SMC where they will grow personally, professionally, spiritually and socially and hopefully, see the life-changing impact of belonging in a community.

JOY’s Mission Crew Care Program includes participation in daily devotions, attending  SMC social events and chapel times, 1:1 mentorship from SMC leaders, attending Family Camp chapel, and a healthy contribution to community living.

Summer Mission Crew members are encouraged to participate in fundraising for the SMC Fund.  More details about this fundraising opportunity are listed in the Participants Guide.  Summer Mission Crew Fund Participant Guide
