At the March 27th Board Meeting, the JOY Board of Directors was excited to officially appoint three new board members to JOY’s Board of Directors. After an extensive and thorough selection and discernment process, we are confident that these individuals embody the vision, mission and values of JOY and will support us in leading JOY forward with their unique giftings so that we might respond to the current and future ministry needs of the world around us. Please join us in welcoming Rob Raiger, Adrian Parks, and Donald Noble.

Rob Raiger is a seasoned Christian leader with a heart for ministry and governance. As a current member of the JOY trailer park, he understands the importance of Christian camping and its impact on future generations. His strategic thinking and expertise will be an asset to the board.

Adrian Park is a former JOY Board Member who supported revision work many years ago at JOY. Despite his extensive involvement as a surgeon and leader in the United States medical field, he has never lost his passion and support for the ministry of JOY. Adrian’s vast experience serving on non-profit boards, involvement in ministry, and his heart for seeing lives transformed through the biblical foundations of Jesus Christ make him an excellent addition to the board.

Donald Noble brings extensive business administration, accounting, fundraising, and management experience to the board. With a background in charity accounting and experience providing support to various Christian organizations, his expertise will be invaluable in ensuring the financial health and integrity of Joy Bible Camp.

We are excited to have Rob, Adrian, and Donald join our team of dedicated board members. Their passion, expertise, and commitment to the mission of Joy Bible Camp will be instrumental in helping us continue to serve and impact the lives of campers, staff, and our broader community for years to come. The board is not the only area God can use you. At Joy, we have many support needs.
CAN YOU HELP? ONE day |ONE week |ONE month | SUMMER 2023

Here are a few ideas:

1. Ministry Committee: Provide guidance and recommendations to the board on the missional purpose and activities – Application available on request – limited to only three applicants available.
2. Work Teams: Put together a work team to tackle a task or project at camp. The camp will supply meals and accommodation to groups assisting in meeting needs identified by Joy Bible Camp.
3. Sponsors: Our application for sponsorships is high; at Joy, all formal applications are accepted. Give the gift of an opportunity for someone to deepen or discover true life in Christ.
4. Cabin Leaders: A one-week commitment plus training.
5. Service and support team: Help with cabin leader support, dining services, family-style service, venue flow and cleanup. (Offer a day, a day a week or a whole week).
6. Mental health and counselling: Services and guidance for reported mental health distress.
7. Speakers, Small group leaders and worship leader recommendations for future ministry events.
8. Electrical: For compliance with the insurance inspection review, JOY Bible Camp needs work done by a registered electrician.
9. Plumbing: Repair toilets, leaks and flow issues
10. Project planning: Expertise and support with an overall site plan.
11. Building: Re-level the subfloor of Fletcher Cottage. The main building needs evaluation and repositioning of support beams. We need four windows replaced and one new window installed.
12. General repairs: Replace alarm batteries, Repair murphy beds, System for keys and locks, repair. Renovate the mini putt, Jungle Gym and other game areas.
13. Artists and Designers: The Belch Cottage and GYM need love and life. We need a mural and some practical home décor ideas and resources
14. Donate: Joy relies on partners to sustain and broaden its missional purpose.
15. Craft Kits: Makeup 5 – 15 craft kits with clear instructions and all the needed materials for children, adults and youth.
16. Donate Materials: We need contacts for good deals on program and sports equipment, Outdoor and indoor furnishings, decking, mattresses, and building materials like paint, doors and windows.
17. Aluminum welding: The pontoon boats and dock need repairs that include welding.
18. Pontoon Boats and Dock: The pontoon boats and dock cannot be used for summer 2023 without complete restoration or replacement.
